Sweet & Spicy Wings & Sweet Potato Wedges

Seriously delicious combination!

We love wings. We especially love them during football season. Ocassionally, I will buy some from Thrive Market and cook them in the air fryer. Usually, I'm all about the wing sauce, but this combination, as light as it is, was so full of flavor that I didn't miss the typical wing sauce at all. I seasoned the sweet potatoes the same way, but the sweetness from the sweet potato took over mostly. The dipping sauce I made was intended for the sweet potatoes; however, I ended up dipping a few bites of my wings in it as well. I highly recommend this entire combination. You can watch me prepare this meal below in my Facebook Live.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken wings

  • 4 sweet potatoes (cut in wedges)

  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt

  • 4 tbsp olive oil

  • 2 tbsp red pepper flakes

  • 2 tbsp paprika

  • 3 tbsp coriander (reserve 1 tbsp for the dip)

  • 2 tbsp brown sugar

  • 2 tbsp salt

  • 4-6 tbsp lime juice

Directions

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Place the wings in a large Ziploc bag along with half of the seasoning (olive oil through salt) and 2 tbsp lime juice. Shake until well combined and leave in the fridge for about 20 minutes.

Step 2

Prepare the sweet potatoes by cutting into small fry-like wedges. Place the sweet potatoes in a large bowl along with the rest of the seasoning and 2 tbsp of lime juice. Stir until well combined.

Step 3

Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray and evenly distribute the sweet potatoes along the sheet. Bake for 20-25 minutes.

Step 4

While the sweet potatoes are baking, cook the wings in the air fryer at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes. While the wings are cooking, mix together the Greek yogurt, 2 tbsp lime juice and the reserved 1 tbsp coriander. I added extra lime juice to the dip because I really prefer the citrus flavor.
