Green Grinch Smoothie

Updated: Dec 2, 2022

Easiest way to sneak in veggies now AND later!

It's not too early for Christmas. I don't care. As soon as Halloween is over, it is all about Christmas in our house! Therefore, this being named after the Grinch is totally acceptable.

I made this for me and the boys, but you can easily make this and freeze for later use. All you need to do is pour half in an ice cube tray for later use. You can simply allow them to melt in shaker bottle in the fridge, or you can blend them up with a little water when you're ready to use them!

For me and the boys, I was able to have about half of a serving myself, I filled three reusable pouches for them to enjoy right then, and I froze four individual 2 tbsp portions for Abe, my one year old, to have in a few bowls with oatmeal. When I freeze the individual portions for Abe, I just let one defrost in its container in the fridge over night. You can find the reusable pouches here, the individual portion tray here, and the containers here.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of a green smoothie frozen blend (such as this Dole Fruit & Veggie Blend)

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk

  • 1 serving of protein powder (your choice on flavor; I used unflavored)

  • food paint/color (optional)

Directions

  1. Blend all ingredients and enjoy!

  2. Separate the two servings and save one for later by freezing in an ice cube tray (or use one of the other methods I mentioned for the kids)

Makes 2 servings
